Netball

The Good Shepherd Netball Club (GSNC) is a school based club which participates in the Canberra Netball Association Saturday  competition. Membership is open to all Good Shepherd Students from Kinder through to Year 6.

Our Netball club fosters our wonderful school community spirit and our students’ love of netball! It allows for our students to play with fellow students and friends, further bonding them through a common goal with a team sport. As we grow we plan to extend on our childrens skills and love of the sport, nurturing players, volunteers, and officials in our school community, and offering them opportunities through coaching, carnivals, courses, and clinics when available.

There may also be an opportunity for a parent's team each year if there is enough interest. This will be a Saturday afternoon comp for those interested.

A weeknight competition is run through Netball ACT. We can help with information for those interested in this option.

It is not necessary to have played netball prior to joining the club. We welcome all levels of experience or inexperience and skill. If your child is unsure about netball and would just like more information, please feel free to contact a member of the committee and we will be able to help you.

Canberra Scholastic Cheerleading invites Good Shepherd students to participate in the sport of competitive cheerleading. Competitions are attended within the ACT, NSW, and at a National level. Our Cheerleaders compete in a minimum of three competitions a year.

The underlying value system is very important to Good Shepherd Cheer and we adhere to a strict code of conduct. The core values are Spirit, Commitment, Belief, and Action.

Coaches are trained to not only skill children in tumbling, stunting, dance, strength, and flexibility, but are also trained to help with children’s confidence and resilience.

Good Shepherd Cheer was created in 2008 as a recreational activity and became a competitive sport in May 2009. Since that time Good Shepherd has had much success at both a state and national level in both the scholastic and All-Star sections.
